Phil Wheeler

Senior Superintendent

Take a laid-back Vermonter with the deliberate, unhurried approach to life and you’d wonder how he could succeed in the pressurized environment of construction where urgency predominates, a liaissez-faire approach can wreak havoc on budgets and the number of subcontractors, consultants and owners that need to be managed are legion.

Surprising to some people, that’s exactly why Phil is at the top of the effectiveness spectrum among Superintendents at Rafn Company. It looks like he’s going at 2,000 rpm, but his mind, with it’s unique planning skills and comprehensive vision for a project is going at 6,000 rpm. He maximizes motion and supervision on the job with a steady hand and a confident demeanor, leveraging it with professional respect he has accumulated through decades in the industry.

Phil brings extraordinary technical skills launched by a degree in Building Construction from the University of Washington and nurtured at Rafn on multiple complex renovations and multi-family projects. The best part about Phil is he takes his projects personally. A permanent relationship with the client, with the mutual satisfaction it engenders is his mission. In sum, Phil brings leadership and customer relation skills in abundance.
