Ryan always knew his career would be in the construction industry. Initially, he studied engineering but switched to Construction Management to be more hands-on, tactile, and involved in the physical construction process. After running his own house painting company during summers home from college, an internship in China, and completing a variety of tenant improvement projects for several major commercial companies in the Puget Sound region, Ryan brought his talents and experience to the Rafn Company in 2024. For him, the draw was the company culture, the long tenure of employees, and the focus on local projects.

Ryan describes each project as an intriguing puzzle and says that there is always a better solution; you just have to find it. His desire for constant improvement drives him to push forward, whether it involves gaining technical expertise to meet new project challenges, approaching a situation from a different perspective, or crossing off another major home improvement project from his list.
