This is a new 6,000-square-foot addition for manufacturing, storage, and office space, next to Torr’s existing tilt-up concrete light industrial warehouse building. This new addition houses an autoclave to expand the capabilities of their manufacturing process.
The building structure is complex as it is essentially two buildings in one: a CMU exterior with structural steel inside to support the 2nd floor. Both the ground and second levels have specific recesses in their floors to accommodate Torr’s specialized manufacturing equipment, including a large autoclave, industrial oven, and a commercial cooler/freezer, requiring significant coordination within the structure.
We also added a fire sprinkler and fire alarm system to the existing and new areas, and installed all new mechanical systems and replaced the gas-fired radiant heating in the existing warehouse work areas.
