Korean Community Presbyterian Church

This 60,000 sq ft 3-story facility on 14.5 acres of a wooded site in Bothell had significant site challenges for storm water detention, wetland preservation and unstable soils.

It was designed for a large and growing group, with unique culture and programmatic goals. The center includes a multitude of functions such as: a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, office space, classrooms, coffee shop, chapel, senior rooms, and day care facilities.

It is a contemporary building with an exposed steel structure, woodwork, and durable floor finishes. Extensive civil work went into the site development, including improved city roadways and major utility work. The site has parking for 260 cars and is fully irrigated and landscaped. It is a testament to the vision and perseverance of a diverse congregation in a united community effort.

The real success of the project related to multiple working dynamics driven by various work styles, expectations, extensive owner changes along the way, and a demanding municipality. Rafn Company was proud to deliver a quality outcome in an effective and collaborative way.
