This project was to demo and replace Alpha Chi Sorority’s commercial kitchen on a short 3 month schedule during the University of Washington’s summer break.

Our scope of work included demolition of the existing kitchen and rebuild with new equipment and hood exhaust system. We updated all surfaces throughout the kitchen including new epoxy flooring and upgraded the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well. Additionally, we also had to make significant structural upgrades to the kitchen area based on the new layout.

The kitchen project also required structural upgrades to the roof to carry the load of the new exhaust and air units as well as a steel platform for equipment maintenance. Also, we removed and infilled a chimney stack from the ground floor through the roof eliminating an unneeded building element and creating usable space in the rooms above the kitchen.

Other project scope included revising the layout of the mail room and upgrading the dining room with new surface finishes and new sliding doors.

Self-performed work included rough carpentry and structural carpentry.
